Graduate Admissions Assistant Application

The UChicagoGRAD Graduate Enrollment Initiatives Office is seeking Graduate Admissions Assistants. The Assistants’ main role will be as a project assistant to the Program Coordinator. Responsibilities will include welcoming visitors, answering phones and email, speaking with prospective graduate students, data entry, and assisting with research projects. Assistants will also conduct regular campus tours for prospective and admitted graduate students. Assistants will be expected to work at least two 3 hour shifts per week which includes a campus tour, preferably more.

*Though we prefer students with at least one quarter of experience at the University, we will consider applications from first year graduate students with relevant professional or volunteer experience.*


  • Currently enrolled graduate or professional student at the University of Chicago – we have a strong preference for students who have completed at least one year of their program, or who otherwise have some previous experience with the University
  • Knowledgeable about the University and University support services
  • Enthusiastic and able to relate quickly and comfortably to new people
  • Comfortable with public speaking – previous experience conducting tours or public speaking experience is preferred, but not necessary
  • Must be punctual, friendly, and comfortable relaying information as well as responding to questions
  • Proficiency in Excel and Word strongly preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Pay:$12.50 per hour
